Legacy Roots captures your loved one's life story in a guided interview over Zoom, then turns it into a keepsake your family will treasure for generations.
We guide the conversation. You keep the legacy.

How did your parents meet? What was their first job? What did their childhood home look like, and what do they wish they had known at twenty?
Most families mean to ask. Then life gets busy, health changes, and the chance slips away. Afterward, so many people say the same thing: "I wish I had recorded Mom telling that story."
If you're caring for someone you love, you already carry a lot. Legacy Roots makes preserving their story one less thing you have to figure out. We do the work, and you get to listen.

"Wow. I cried through the whole story. Thank you. You really got it right."
Margaret booked a Life Story Interview, she wanted to leave behind her story for her family. What she expected was a gentle conversation about family lineage. What she received was an emotional archive: stories of courage during the 1960s, comfort in knowing her story would go on.

While recorded memoirs create an irreplaceable family treasure, the recording process itself is an act of deep honor. Being invited to share one's life story provides a rare sanctuary of focused attention, warmth, and validation.
An undivided, patient presence where every memory matters. Their words are not rushed or spoken over, creating an environment of profound respect.
A gentle container where laughter, nostalgia, lessons learned, and genuine feelings are welcomed with warmth, sensitivity, and discretion.
Thoughtful prompts open doors to stories rarely surfaced in day-to-day conversation, deepening bonds with children and grandchildren.
Reconnecting with past triumphs, core values, and life milestones reinforces an enduring sense of pride and selfhood.
An unhurried cadence with room for pauses, tea, and contemplation. There is never pressure to perform—only an honoring of life as it was lived.

Founder & Former Hospice, Administrator & Grief Support Specialist
"Every family has a quiet history worth saving before time takes it away."
I spent years in hospice care standing in quiet rooms beside adult children who were realizing, with profound heartbreak, how many questions they had never thought to ask. They knew their parent loved them, but they had never recorded their laughter, the story of how they survived their hardest season, or the exact advice they wished they could hear one more time.
That experience changed my life. I realized that preserving a family narrative is not about making a corporate documentary: it is about creating a safe, unhurried space where someone feels deeply heard, cherished, and honored while their voice and memory are still vibrant.
When we sit down with your loved one, we bring the gentle pacing, respectful dignity, and clinical empathy developed through years of hospice administration. We never rush. We never interrogate. We simply guide them through the tapestry of their life so your family has a voice to hold onto for generations.
Preserving a life story should feel effortless, comforting, and deeply respectful. Here is how we accommodate health, technology, and privacy so your family can focus purely on sharing memories.
Have a unique question? We are glad to guide you.
We make participation completely frictionless. Legacy Interview is conducted on Zoom. If preferred, a family member can sit alongside them to assist, though our interviewers handle all technical pacing gently. Our goal is story preservation, not perfection.
Pacing is entirely guided by their physical comfort and stamina. Sessions are never rushed, and we frequently divide conversations into manageable 30 to 45-minute chapters. We pause whenever needed for rest, tea, or water, resuming only when they feel completely refreshed.
Our trained biographers are skilled in empathetic, patient conversational techniques. Pauses and reflective silences are respected as natural parts of storytelling. If dates or names are fuzzy, we focus on sensory memories and feelings. Our post-production audio editing also removes disorienting background noise and false starts for a smooth narrative.
Your family retains 100% full copyright and ownership of all raw audio, transcripts, and finalized materials. Your archive is never shared publicly (without permission), uploaded to open databases, or monetized.
Your Legacy Roots interviews are recorded over Zoom, so the picture looks like a video call quality rather than a professionally filmed documentary, but your loved one's face, voice, laughter and stories come through clearly. Recording online keeps Legacy Roots budget-friendly. In-person life story films often cost several times more because a film crew has to travel to your loved one's home. It also means you don't have to wait. When someone you love is aging or ill, what matters most is capturing their story while there's still time, and a heartfelt recording made now is worth far more than a perfect one that never happens.
